Exams
There will be two midterm exams and the final exam. The time of these exams is as follows:
Midterm 1: 8:30pm-10p:15m, 10/1 10/11
Midterm 2: 8:30pm-10:15pm, 11/1
Final exam: 2:15pm-5:00pm, 12/13
Midterm 1 info
- Time and place: Th, Oct 11, 8:30-10:15 pm. Room assignments are as follows:
Lecture 1 (Benjamin Sibley): Javits 102
Lectures 2 (Demetre Kazaras) and 3 (Alexander Kirillov): Javits 100
Lecture 4 (Yu Li): Javits 110
- Material covered: everything listed in the course syllabus up to section 6.4.
- Practice problems. Note: do not expect that the actual midterm will contain exactly these kinds of problems!
- Rules and policies: no books, notes, or calculators. Bring your university ID and pens/pencils; scrap paper will be provided.
Make sure to write full solutions, not just answers; solutions should be written so that the grader can understand and follow your reasoning.
Midterm 2 info
- Time and place: Th, Nov 1, 8:30-10:15 pm. Room assignments are same
as for midterm 1:

- Practice problems and solutions. Note: do not expect that the actual midterm will contain exactly these kinds of problems!
Also, this collection of practice problems is much longer than the actual midterm - to give you more chances to practice.

- Rules and policies: you are allowed one sheet of notes (letter size, two-sided). Other than that, no books, notes, or calculators. Bring your university ID and pens/pencils; scrap paper will be provided.
