Welcome to MAT 534
Algebra I is one of the core courses intended for first-year graduate students.
It is the first course in the 2-semester sequence (Algebra I, Algebra II)
which covers the basics of algebra: groups, rings, fields, vector spaces, polynomials, Galois theory...

The grades are in!
The final exam grades are in Brightspace; for those auditing the
course, please write to me and I will tell you your grade.

- Because of the fire alarm, we have no choice but to make the exam
into a takehome exam. Download your copy of the final exam
and do it at home (or anywhere else). COmpleted solutions shoudl be scanned
and emailed to kirillov@math.stonybrook.edu by 9pm today.
Same rules as before: closed book, no consultations or discussions with anyone.
Make sure the scan is easily readable. Use one of phone scanner apps,
make sure you have good light when taking photos.
