• General information from the university web page, including driving directions using the LIE (Long Island Expressway) and LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) train schedules.

  An alternate driving route, in general with less traffic, is the the Northern State Parkway. Take it east all the way to the end, continue on 347 east to Nicolls Road (Route 97), where you turn left. The Main Entrance to Stony Brook will be at the 4^th traffic light, on your left.

• Campus Map. (the Department of Mathematics is just south of the Sports Complex and athletic fields.)

• Getting from LaGuardia or JFK to campus: either use an airport limousine, or take a Carey Bus to Jamaica station ((718) 632-0500 for more info), where you may take a train to Stony Brook.

  One of the nicest ways of getting from the New York airports to Stony Brook is to be picked up by the Spartan Limo. You should make a reservation in advance at (631) 928-5454.

  You can also call LI Airport Limo on (631) 234-0223 or Winston on (631) 924-1200.

  From Newark Airport, you can take Olympia Bus to Penn Station in Manhattan, which is rather quick, and take the Long Island Rail Road from there.
