About Me
Hello there! My name is Owen Mireles Briones.
I am a Mathematics PhD Candidate at Stony Brook University, currently on my 3rd year. My main research interest is in probability, more specifically Markov chains and mixing times. My advisor is Robert Hough.
I did my undergrad studies in Guanajuato, Mexico, in a joint program by Universidad de Guanajuato and CIMAT. Guanajuato is a picturesque college town known for its history, culture, and Festival Cervantino. As a nice fact, its architecture was the main inspiration for the Land of the Dead in Pixar's Coco. My banner captures the sight I had during the 5 years I lived there.
